About Buu
Dear Neighbor,
I am a 40-year resident of San Jose-Evergreen Community College District and a proud graduate of public education. As a former school board member with the Franklin McKinley School District, we balanced the budget every year while putting students first. We implemented initiatives to increase academic success, attracted and retained quality teachers and staff, and created a safe and healthy learning environment.
With your support and vote, I will bring experienced leadership to the San Jose-Evergreen Community College Board to maximize your tax dollars. I will work hard to see our community colleges remain affordable, accessible and create opportunities for advancement.
In Community Spirit,
Bthai
A product of public education
I attended elementary and middle school in Franklin McKinley School District. I graduate from East Side Union High School. I earned a Master's degree in Social Work and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from San Jose State University.
A liaison for our communities
As Director of Youth Services, I developed programs that reduced truancy and gang violence. My public policy work with non-profits and elected officials allowed me to advocate for school funding, health care access, reproductive rights and domestic violence prevention.
